Backcountry Flying for River Trips

Air Travel Options for Your River Journey

Seamless Transitions to the Wilderness

Please be advised that Backcountry Flying (using an Air Taxi service) to launch on the river may be necessary for your river trip. This may happen because of prohibitive water levels (too high, too low), river section closures due to events of nature, wildfire, or other road closures preventing us from reaching the river via shuttle bus. In the event that flying is required, all IWC guests will be responsible for covering the cost of their seat on the charter flight. IWC covers the cost of flying of all river equipment, guides, and trip gear. We have clients cover the cost of their seat, so that when flying is not necessary, we are able to keep costs as reasonable as possible for all guests—and not have to build this into the overall price of our river trips. In recent years this cost has been between $145-175 per seat. You are welcome to contact us for a price estimate at any time in the booking process. Late August clients should be advised that flying is more common on these dates due to lower water levels in the upper end of the river.
